 Premier Safe Shutdown Installation Instructions
The Premier Safe Shutdown software adds the command Ctrl-Alt-X to the Premier
software in order to close down the application and halt the operating system. Follow the
procedure below to install the software and labels provided in this kit.

Install the Software

In order to load the Premier Safe Shutdown software you must first exit the Premier
software. To exit Premier you must be logged in as administrator and then perform the
following steps.

1. Press Ctrl-S to enter System Setup.

2. Select Passwords to enter Password Administration
3. Press Ctrl-E
4. Answer Y to question Are you sure?

Once the application has exited the screen will be blank. Perform the following steps.
Please note the first three steps will not cause anything to be displayed on the monitor.

1. Insert 3.5” floppy diskette containing the Premier Safe Shutdown installation.
2. Press the Windows key.
3. Type R <Enter>.
4. Type a:setup<Enter>. The message Installing software… Please wait… will be
displayed. If this message is not displayed then remove the floppy, restart the
system and repeat procedure.

Upon successful installation the following message will be displayed.

Install completed… Please remove disk and restart system.

If the installation fails the following message will be displayed.

Install failed… Please call Hologic Support.

5. To restart the Premier application: power the system off and then power the
system on.

Install the Labels

Locate the two labels provided in this kit, peel off the paper backing, and affix the labels
to the locations shown in the following figure.
