Conception Phase

It is the first phase of Project Life Cycle in which idea is generated and carefully examined to
determine whether or not it benefits the organization. Project feasibility is also an important
concern of the decision making team in this phase.

Product Idea: After a long discussion among the team members, all the members agreed on a
product which is known as “NATURE INDOOR”. There is no trend of indoor plants in Pakistan.
We have observed that usually place the plants in gallery or balcony but not in offices and
bedrooms so we judged this market gap and targeted it.

Project Feasibility: The project is feasible because all the ingredients are easily available in
the market. We have enough financial and human resources and it can be done with in the
specified time.

Definition Phase

The second phase of project life cycle in which project plan, scope or charter to be put in writing,
outlining the work to be performed. During this phase a team should prioritize the project and
determine what resources are needed.

Work Outlines: The outlines of the work to be performed according to priority are:
1) Procurement: The purchase of raw material is the first key to start a project. First of all,
the necessary ingredients and other materials should be purchased from the market. The
materials should be of good quality and price should also be reasonable.
2) Product Development: The second step is product development. It requires a lot of care.
It is necessary that all the ingredients should be perfectly weighted and mixed with great
care to prepare the product.
3) Packaging and Designing: The third step is packaging and designing. The packaging is
considered a Five Second Ad because when a customer sees it, the picture remains in the
mind of customer for five seconds. So the packaging and design should be attractive. The
colors and design of the package should be selected very carefully which not only attracts
the customer but also convey a message.
4) Marketing: One of the important step is marketing. It includes the market segmentation,
positioning your product in the targeted market, setting the price, promoting your
product, conveying functional as well as experiential benefits and selling the product in
the market.

Determining Resources: Financial as well as human resources are required to initiate and
complete the project.

Initiation Phase

Our whole team worked in a co-ordinated manner to achieve our goal.

While planning at the same time we plan to negotiate any problem
comes across, during manufacturing, packaging, transportation
distribution in the market even at customer level or at any stage of the
project.
We designed our product keeping in view our budget. All of
us(group members) after deciding our product and its budget, we
contributed to make it out. We thought to select our parts of product
to make our product not only full of attractiveness but also it make
customer to feel close to natural beauty and healthy. Finally we
managed everything started our project work.
Implementation Phase

In this phase, project manager compares the project status and progress to the actual plan. During
this phase, project managers may need to adjust schedules or do what is necessary to keep the
project on track.

While implementing the project following steps have been taken by the project manager to
control the performance.
1) Coordination and Communication: It is the first key to make the project successful.
For this purpose, a face book page is developed by the project manager where all the
team members coordinate and communicate with each other by updating their work
status. All the necessary information is being uploaded by the manager on this page.
2) Timely response: All the members are strictly asked to respond quickly and timely
regarding their duties and responsibilities. They have to respond timely to other members
in case of any query.
3) Helping each other: The concept of socialism is applied here. If any of the team member
is facing any difficulty or any problem in performing his/her task, other members should
come to help that member because it is not the project of one person, it is a collective
effort of all the group members.

Budgeting

The total expenditures of the project are as follows

 Product 6000
 Wood cost 2000
 Soil and fertilizer 1500
 Plants 2000
 Marketing 500

Evaluation

It is the last phase of project life cycle. In this phase project tasks are completed and the client
approves the outcome. After this a necessary evaluation is conducted to highlight project
success, difficulties faced and learning from the project.

The project was very interesting and of practical nature. It was a great platform to learn how the
project can be started and successfully completed within the specified time by using enough
resources. Although there were some problems and difficulties but all the team members
managed it with great care.

Learning: The learning from the project are described under:

1) Leadership Skills: The leadership skills become developed and refined in all the team
members.
2) Team Work: All the members come to know that how to perform in a team and how to
contribute their efforts in the team work.
3) Decision Making Skills: The project helped to improve the decision making skill
because all the members were authorized to take decision in their respective field.
