This tool is applicable to all of the student ISTE standards in standard 2: digital citizen 2a-2d.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

Popplet is a way to have mind maps with your students. You can share these with your students and work on them together, have
them make their own, upload pictures, videos, etc. in addition to text, and maybe even give it as homework.

INTEGRATION IDEA - COLLABORATION

How might you integrate this resource in a lesson plan to promote collaboration among students in your classroom, or among
students and others outside of the classroom?

This tool would allow collaboration primarily online. Students would learn how to behave online and how to take responsibility
for their posts. On Popplet, if you contribute anything, your name is attached to it so everyone knows what you put on there. This
should be a safe platform for students to generate ideas and make connections between important concepts in class. This will
help students realize that not everyone thinks the way they do (applicable outside of the classroom setting).

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource? I would rate Popplet a 2.
 Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators. I gave Popplet a 2 because it’s very user friendly and gives me, as a
future teacher, more opportunities for my students to ask questions and think about science in a different way. Although
I need to make the Popplet platform for them initially, as I send it to them, they are free to edit it and use it as they wish.
They also have printer friendly versions so if my students or I want to print out our collaboration mind maps we can.
