Project : Construction of Two(2) Storey Four(4) Classrooms Workshop Building-1,

Kalinga National High School, Tabuk City, Kalinga
Location : Tabuk City, Kalinga
Contractor : J.Q.G Construction

The proposed Variation Order No. 1 is prepared to conform to actual field conditions. The
increase, decrease in quantities, deletion of item and introduction of new items are all
necessary for the implementation of the project. The following are the items of work
involved in this Variation Order.

1. Inclusion of New Item 801 (1) - Removal of Structures and Obstruction and Item
505(5) – Grouted Rip Rap (Class "A")
- The inclusion of this item of work is due to actual site condition. There is an
existing marcos type school building structure on the proposed site of the above
project which is not incorporated in the contract. Also, for site improvement,
there is a need for slope protection at the back portion of the school building to
secure the buildings and prevent the students from any untoward incidents.
2. Inclusion of New Item 1101(27) - Pop-up type/Floor Duplex Convenience
Outlet/Receptacle (GT)
- This item of work was not incorporated in the Program of Works (POW) and
there is a necessity to include this item due to the modification of the original
plan.
3. Increase in quantity of Item 902(1)a1- Reinforcing Steel Bars (Deformed, G-40),
1046(2)a1 - CHB Non-Load Bearing (Including RSB), 1046(2)a2 - CHB Non-Load
Bearing (Including RSB), 1010(1) – Frames, 1010(2)b - Doors (Wood Panel),
1009(1)a - Jalousie Window (Glass), 1005(5) - Grille Window and 1004(2)a -
Finishing Hardware (Locksets)
- The increase in quantity of the stipulated item of works was based on the Bill of
Quantities (BOQ) of the modified plan from Dep-Ed. Furthermore, the regular 2
storey – 6 classroom building plan was changed, thus merging the regular 2
classrooms into a workshop and providing additional quantities based on the
modified plan from Dep-Ed.
4. Decrease in Quantity of Item 1018(2) - Unglazed Tiles and 1018(3) - Granite Tiles
- The decrease in quantity of the stipulated item of works was based on the
modified plan of Dep-Ed.
5. Deletion of Item 505(5) - Stone Masonry Class "A" and 1003(17) - Carpentry and
Joinery, Furniture
- The deletion of Item 505(5) is to site condition. The necessity of the stone
masonry as embankment protection is no longer needed.
- Chairs, tables and other materials incorporated on the item 1003(17) will be
provided by Dep-Ed.
