the Repair and Rehablitation of G+3 Residential Appartment Located Near Sea

 The Repair strategy involved, removal of delaminated concrete cover, anti corrosive
coating, polymer modified mortar, injection of epoxy grout for the repair of beam
column junction and masonry crack, self sacrificial anode to prevent corrosion of
reinforcement, micro concrete for slab and column, additional reinforcement with anti
corrosive coating, glass fibre wrapping for column to increase ductility, and polymer
modified mortar for repair of RCC and Masonry cracks.

 Epoxy grouting is used for strengthening of weakened and cracked masonry walls.
 Jacketing of wall surfaces was made by applying mesh nonferrous steel reinforcements
and by filling the gaps with lime mortar. Cracks in lime concrete slab were fixed by
welding of steel members. Collapse of column portion was restored by removing the
collapsed portion and reconstructing the portion was carried out using same type of
stone and mortar. Roof leakages were restored by providing proper slopes and by
replacing the corroded members using Lead flashing.

Planning: An International Journal (CiVEJ),
 Remove all unsound concrete & expose reinforcing steel all round.
 De-rust the steel by appropriate methods viz sand blasting, brushing & applying rust
removers etc.
 Restore reinforcement with anchorages i.e. shear connectors, wherever required.
 Apply tack/binding coat of polymers or Epoxy based materials.
 Use one of the several stitching techniques to restore concrete to the original surface
level.
 Injection of cement slurry or polymer modified slurry or epoxy of suitable grade to fill up
the pores, internal cracks or segregation.
 Apply suitable protective coating.

 The entire deck surface of the bridge was rehabilitated in three steps.
 Firstly, the downstream curb was replaced by a new prefabricated UHPFRC curb on a
new reinforced concrete beam which was necessary for the widening.
 Secondly, the chloride contaminated concrete of the upper surface of the bridge deck
was replaced by 30 mm of UHPFRC in two consecutive steps such that one traffic lane
could be maintained open.
 Thirdly, the concrete surface of the upstream curb was replaced with 30 mm of UHPFRC.
The fresh self-compacting UHPFRC material was prepared at a local concrete
prefabrication plant with a standard mixer, brought to the site by a truck and then
poured on the deck surface prepared by high pressure water jetting.
