2. What are the different E Commerce Domains and give specific examples of each domain.
BUSINESS-TO-BUSINESS (B2B)
Example: Quite self-explanatory, B2B ecommerce occurs when a
transaction is made between two businesses.
BUSINESS-TO-CONSUMER (B2C)
Example: This is when stores sell products to consumers, i.e., people like you
and me.Online retail (including dropshipping) usually works on a business to
consumer model.
CONSUMER-TO-CONSUMER (C2C)
Example: C2C e commerce occurs when consumer sells directly to
consumers. This has seen a particular boom over the last ten years. eBay is
still the market leader in this niche, having established themselves in 1995.
They're closely followed by Etsy who was founded ten years later in 2005.
CONSUMER-TO-BUSINESS (C2B)
Example: Consumer to business models is slightly less common
in ecommerce. This materializes when a consumer sells or contributes
money to a company.Companies using crowdsourcing or a Kickstarter
campaign to fund their business would fall under the bracket of C2B.
BUSINESS-TO-ADMINISTRATION (B2A)
Example: This type of ecommerce happens when transactions are carried out
online between companies and public administration.This area tends to
involve a variety of services such as social security, employment, and legal
documentation.
CONSUMER-TO-ADMINISTRATION (C2A)
Example: Lastly, this type of ecommerce involves all transactions between
individual people and public administration.
