Dear Admissions Committee Members:

It is with much pleasure and enthusiasm that I am writing to you to support the candidacy
of Luis Fernando Salas Tapia for being awarded your scholarship program at your
recognised city and country.

I first met Luis Salas when he enrolled in my course of “Transducers" in Popayán at

Universidad del Cauca. In this class he demonstrated engineering and physical analysis
talents far beyond the capability of most of his peers. Some semesters later he took other
two courses with me, namely: “Control Systems” and “Special engineering issues: Thermal
Solar Energy”. His enthusiasm and constant interest about technological devices and
inventions and the basic principles using physical concepts convinced me that he is a great
student.

Luis’ penetrating mind allowed him not only to grasp the basics of our curriculum, but also
to get high marks in the courses. He demonstrated superb leadership and organizational
skills in leading group projects. I am thus convinced that Luis will prove himself to be a
valuable contributor to study MSc. both as a graduate student and as a professional
person.
