THE GOOD SAMARITAN

Once a lawyer asked Jesus this tricky question, “If we are to love our neighbour
as ourselves, who then is our neighbour?”

Jesus answered, “A man travelling from Jerusalem to Jericho when he was

attacked by robbers. They took everything he had. They beat him up and left
him by the roadside nearly dead. Soon, a priest came along. But when he saw
the man, he passed by on the other side of the road. Another church worker
came along. But seeing the man he too, passed him by without helping him. But
then came a Samaritan. He was from another country. But when he saw the man
hurt and bleeding, he stopped and helped him. He bandaged his wounds, put
him on his own donkey and took him to an inn. There he cared for the man. The
next day, he took two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. The
Samaritan said, Take care of this man and if you spend more than this “I will
repay you.”

Jesus asked the lawyer, “Which one of the three men was a good neighbour?”
The lawyer replied, obviously the one who helped him!”
Jesus then said, “Go and do likewise.”

(THE LEAST OF THESE)

Whatever you did for one of the least of these, my brother

Whatever you did for one of the least of these, my sister
You did it unto me, you did it into me
Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did it unto me.
If you see someone in need I hope you’ll share, I hope you’ll care (2)
Lend a helping hand, try to understand
If you see someone in need
Remember, Jesus said
Whatever you did for one of the least of these, my brother
Whatever you did for one of the least of these, my sister
You did it unto me, you did it into me
Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did it unto me....unto me.
