Santo António
Santo António, highly respected as the true patron of the city, sets the mood for the festivities that reach their highpoint on the evening of June 12.
Many streets and bairros are decorated with streamers, garlands and globes. The Casamentos de Santo António are a traditional wedding celebration
that take place annually on the same day and are one of the highlights of the festivities in honor of the city's saint Santo António.
Marchas Populares
People from every neighbourhood march down Avenida da Liberdade, filling the road with colourful costumes and popular music. The crowds and
liveliness also fill the narrow back streets, particularly in Alfama, but also in Graça, Bica, Mouraria and Madragoa.

comprehends 12 events, starting with the Monumental Serenata on Sunday, reaching its peak with the Cortejo Académico on Tuesday,
when students from the universities and other higher education institutions of the city march through the downtown streets.

Fundão stands out by the enormous quality of their unique product – cherrys – that is also the main ingredient of the Cherry Festival. The event
happens every year in June and the landscape is dominated by the cherry trees. In this event there are multiple products to taste oferring the best
cherry-based recepies.
Míscaros – Festival do Cogumelo
In order to explore the country's strongest fungal heritage, in Alcaide village, visitors can enjoy the mycological tours, surrounded by the slope of
Gardunha. There you can taste different mushroom-based dishes and other specialties of the region, specially prepared by the typical small taverns in
the village.
Chocalhos – Festival dos Caminhos da Transumância
The ancestral practice of Transhumance is celebrated by crossing pastoral music, local products, a rurality and a tradition. One of the highlights of the
party is a trip through one of the transhumance paths, to the sound of the rattles, the drums and the pipes. Chocalhos is celebrated in Alpedrinha on
every third weekend of September.
