S: “ I sometimes go
to the supermarket.”
T: “ Your friend’s
answer is that
he/she sometimes
go to the
supermarket. So
sometimes here we
know that it is a
adverb, right? But
what kind of
adverbs is that our
lesson today. This is
adverbs of
frequency.”
T: Write the
diagram about
adverbs frequency
“ So we have a list
here. It will begin
from zero percent
‘never’ - when an
action doesn’t
happen at all to
ninty nine percent
‘always’ - when
the action happens
all the time. In the
middle, we have
more three points
on the scale.
‘often/ usually/
frequently’ – when
the action happens
many times , then
‘sometimes/
occasionally’ –
when the action
happens less often,
and ‘rarely/ barely/
hardly/ seldom/
scarely – when the
action happens
only a few times.”

next part. Adverbs
can go in a few
different places in
a sentence but most
commonly they go
in the middle of the
sentence between
the subject and the
verb.”
T: “ Let me give
you a handout to
show the different
places of these
adverbs”
T: “ Can you read
these sentences to
me?”
S: “Read the
sentences”
T: Explain: “ So
we see that adverbs
usually are used
before normal
verbs and after
auxiliary verbs. Or
they are used in the
begining or the end
of a sentence.”
T: Write on the
board : Note!
Inversion:
aux + S+V (only

and says “ Look at
number 6, we have
a invertion with
only minor
adverbs. So please
take note.”
