Name of speaker: Marcello DeVelazquez

Instructions: View the speech two or more times. Using this evaluation form, critique
the presentation.

1. Introduction (gained attention, previewed major ideas, gave audience a reason to

listen).

Strengths:
I really liked his ease of talking and getting personal with the audience, making a point
of relate-ability, he did a very good job in this area.

Suggested improvements:
I would like a stronger attention getter, I believe this area can be improved.

2. Body (two main points with relevant, interesting supporting material for each main
point).

Strengths:
I believe he had two good strong points which he covered well. Interesting supporting
materials which I believe he explained rather well to a lay person, without jargon and
technical language.

Suggested improvements:
I would say that I was left wondering why stress was the most important challenge
information analysis face.

3. Delivery (eye contact, serious and sincere tone, avoid distracting behaviors).

Strengths:
Really good eye contact, very serious and sincere tone, overall very well done.

Suggested improvements:
There were a lot of ums and uhs and that was a bit distracting.

4. Conclusion (summarize main ideas, restate central idea).

Strengths:
Really good reiteration of main ideas and good sign post with the conclusion.

Suggested improvements:
Perhaps more of a summery of the main ideas.
