PUPSRC students volunteer for Brigada Eskwela 2019
SANTA ROSA, Laguna – Students from Polytechnic University of the
Philippines took the time last June 14 to participate in “Brigada Eskwela” at the PUP-SRC Campus. Brigada Eskwela is an annual nationwide initiative by the Department of Education (DepEd), which prepares schools and campuses nationwide for the upcoming classes. Student Council Organization, other elected organization officers and 2nd year students participated and volunteered on the said event. Professors made it as a requirement to boost the spirit of volunteerism and cooperation among the students. Cleaning tools such as brooms, dustpans, mops, and scrub brushes, were provided by the Student Council Organization for the volunteers to be utilized. Rooms, offices, hallways, and facilities, at the new building as well as in pabahay were designated to the students to be cleaned. The multi-purpose court and the garden were also monitored and maintained operational. Aside from the cleaning, broken chairs and other facilities were also repaired. Electrical wirings, and connections were also inspected by the utility. The volunteers helped prepare the school facilities and its environment to become safe and encouraging for learning when students return to school on June 17. Brigada Eskwela happened in just one day, starting from 8 o’clock in the morning up to 5 o’clock in the afternoon.
