Dear Mr. Human Resource,

I am writing this letter to express my interest in the Social Studies teaching position at Kofa High
School for the school year 2020-2021. I believe, if given the opportunity, I would be a valuable
asset to your school community.

I am currently attending Arizona State University in the Mary Lou Fulton School of Education. I
will complete my degree in the spring of 2020 in secondary education with a focus in Social
Studies. I have completed two semesters of internship and will complete my student teaching in
Government with Mr. Franz at Kofa High School in the spring of 2020. I believe this has given
me an excellent opportunity to understand the needs of the students and the expectations and
philosophy of the school and the district.

I am passionate about teaching. I have worked as a paraprofessional at Palmcroft Elementary

School and as the preschool/ nursery attendant at my church. I have also coached high school
girls’ volleyball and basketball, two years at Yuma High School and two years at Kofa High
School. These experiences have only confirmed my passion for teaching. I believe I possess
excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work both independently
and as a team member.
