Production as per Estimating Production chart:

Estimated production, Q = Estimated Standard Production x Bucket Factor x Job Efficiency

Q = Qstd x K x E ( m3/hr )

Estimated production calculation as per formulae, Q (m3/hr):

Q = q x ( 60 x 60 / Cm ) x K x E where, q : production per cycle, (m3/cycle)

Cm : cycle time, (s)

*Digging Condition(%) = ( Digging depth / Specified max. Digging depth ) x 100

**Dumping Condition:

 Easy: Dump onto spoil pile

 Normal: Large dump target

 Rather Difficult: Small dump target

 Difficult: Small dump target requiring max. dumping reach

The Cycle Time is determined by taking practical measurement of Excavating Time (t1), Swing

Time (loaded) (t2), Dumping Time (t3) and Swing Time (empty) (t4). Thus:

Cm = t1 + t2 + t3 + t4

However, for rough estimation, Cm can be found as:

Cm = Cmstd x F (s)

Example:

PC 200 Excavator is working in following condition. Find its Cycle time and hourly output
1. Excavation and duping unto a dump-truck body

2. Type sol is sticky clay

3. Angle of swing is 120 degrees

4. Digging condition is 50 % of the digging depth

Cm = Cmstd x F

= 19 x 1.3 = 24.7 s

Q = q x ( 60 x 60 / Cm ) x K x E

= 0.8 x ( 3600 / 24.7 ) x 1.0 x 0.75

= 87 m3/hr
