III. PROCEDURES
A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
1. Drill
Ask the pupils what kind of sounds they hear every day. Make a list of
different sounds on the board and then ask the students to different pleasant
and unpleasant sounds.

2. Review
What is Pollution?
(Pollution is the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance or
thing that has harmful or poisonous effects.)

3. Motivation
Listening Skills.
Let the pupils listen to the different sound and ask them if the sound is pleasant or
unpleasant :
1. airplaine take off
2. chainsaw
3. ambulance siren
4. mega phone siren
5. traffic jam
B. DEVELOPING ACTIVITIES
 Before we go to our new lesson, we will have a group work.
 But before that, what are the guidelines in doing an activity?

1. Goupings:
Group I – The students will post the pictures of things that show pleasant sound.
Group II – The students will list different effects to a person of hearing a loud
sound.
Group III- The students will list proper care to avoid hearing loss.
Group IV – The students will post the pictures of things that show unpleasant
sound.
2. Discussion
 Group Presentation
 The teacher will ask:
 What do you feel when you hear an unpleasant sound?
 What are the effects of hearing loud sound to a person?
 What will you do to avoid hearing of loud sound or voice?

(Noise pollution is commonly generated inside many industrial facilities and some
other workplaces, but it also comes from highway, railway, airplane, traffic and from
outdoor construction activities.)
