The Vietnamese labour force is still relatively young despite some singnal of
population ageing. Between 2012 and 2017, the proportion of the labour force
under 34 years old slightly declined , the middle-age group remained relatively
stable, while the proportion of the older labour force group gradually increased.
By Quarter 2 of 2017, the youngth labour force (15-24 years old) accounted for
13,8 percent of the total labour force , the younger labour force group (25-34
years old) accounted for 23,82 percent, the middle-age labour force (35-54
years old) for woman and 35-59 years old for men) made up half of the labour
force , and the older labour force (over 55 for woman and over 60 for men )
accounted for 12,2 percent.
