Let’s us all pray and feel the presence of
the lord as we sing our Father. The pupils will behave and sing the song
solemnly.

Fraction! Fraction! Are what I know!
Equal pieces parts of a pie
Fraction! Fraction! They’re alright!
Half of pie, Half of a tree
Halves of different things are different sizes you see
½ is ½ big or small
It takes 2 halves to make 1 whole.

2. PRESENTATION OF THE LESSON

Our topic for today is about FRACTION. So
what is FRACTIONS? What is the
importance of fraction in our life. Let’s
watch and learn. The pupils will remain seated and watch the
clip attentively.
The teacher will play a short clip about
fraction

Let’s have a review regarding what we just


watched. Okay?  For those who would like
to answer, just raise your right hand and wait
for me to call your name. Are we clear? Yes Teacher!

According to the Clip, what is fraction?


It says there that fraction is part of a whole.
Very good!

Next question, what are the parts of fraction?


There are two. So what they? Teacher, numerator and denominator.

What is denominator then?


It is the total number of parts in a whole.
So what is numerator on the other hand?
It is the number of parts taken in a whole.

3. APPLICATION
TEACHER’S ACTIVITY PUPILS’ ACTIVITY

The teacher will put a pizza pie poster on the


board. The pupils will put particular
toppings on pie depending to the fraction
given by the teacher.
The pupil who wants to answer will raise
their hand. And paste the topping on pie.

Put cheese on the whole pizza pie


Sprinkle some bacon strips on the 5/6 of the
pie
Put some bell peppers on the 2/6 of the pizza
Sprinkle some onions on the 2/6 of the pizza
Put pineapple on the 4/6 of the pizza pie
And lastly, put mushrooms on 1/6 of the pie
cause not everyone loves mushrooms. :D
(The pupils will be called randomly)
The pupils will follow the instruction of the
teacher and answer correctly.

4. GENERALIZATION
Fraction represents a part of a whole. It is written using 2 whole numbers and a line. The
number at the top of the line is called numerator, it represents the part taken from the
whole. The number at the bottom is called denominator, it represents the total number of
parts in a whole. Fractions must be equally divided.
