Duterte grants anti-hunger program expansion

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has approved the Expanded Partnership against Hunger and
Poverty, a program involving more state departments that will work closely together to eradicate
hunger in the country by 2030.

Duterte made the approval upon the request of Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles during the
42nd Cabinet meeting held at Malacañang Palace on Friday night, October 11, Presidential
Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.
The other agencies that will now be part of the EPAPH are the Department of Education
(DepEd), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of the Interior and Local Government
(DILG), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the National Nutrition Council, the
National Youth Commission, and the Land Bank of the Philippines.

Among the priority programs under the EPAPH include provisions for the institutional
feeding programs, as well as credit support, capacity-building, and productivity for community-
based organizations.
“Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles requested for the approval of the [Expanded] Partnership
against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) which is geared towards addressing hunger mitigation, food
security, and poverty reduction,” the Palace official said.

“This was approved by the Chief Executive,” he added.

Japan resolves major search operation due to fatal typhoon

TOKYO, Japan- After a Typhoon Hagibis brought widespread flooding and landslides,
destroying buildings and leaving dozens dead, a major search and rescue operation is underway in
Japan as reported on October 14.

Chief cabinet secretary Yoshihide Suga said in a press conference Monday that at least 49 people
were killed, with 200 injured and at least 14 people still missing, the country's public broadcaster
NHK reported Monday. More than 110,000 personnel are involved in search and rescue operations, including
13,000 police, 66,000 fire department staff and 31,000 self-defense force staff.

More than 230, 000 people were evacuated ahead of the storm, and emergency orders were issued for
many cities around the greater Tokyo area. As of Monday, more than 84,000 households in Tokyo, northern
Japan and mountainous areas in the center of the country were still without power, according to electricity
companies.
"We apologize from the bottom of our heart," Hirofumi Shimizu, the deputy chief of Tokyo Fire
Department, said in a press conference on Sunday. "We will try our best not to have this happen again and to
recover trust to us."
The storm, which came as Japan hosts the Rugby World Cup for the first time -- made landfall on
Saturday evening local time on the Izu Peninsula, southwest of Tokyo, leaving a trail of destruction in its
wake.

Landbank ATM extends service in Inopacan

INOPACAN Public Information Office facebook page posted, as the school year 2019-2020
opens, the availability for all Inopacan card holders that Landbak Automated Teller Machine (ATM)
has been installed and is now operating at the New Municipal Hall.

Comments were posted immediately through the use of the same social media and such information
spread to the citizens and neighboring towns.

“We thought it was not true,” remarked Mrs.Yolanda O. Kudera, a parent of Inopacan National High
School learner and an elementary teacher of Inopacan District.
But she added, “It was a relief in our part after knowing the very good news that we don’t have to
travel just to withdraw our salaries”.

Government officials and mostly Inopacan teachers used to complain because of the No-ATM facility
in town to cater their need in times of withdrawing their salaries. They tend to go to some other places for salary
withdrawal which caused hassle due to the distance and more expenditure intended for fares.

People of this town are encouraged to give suggestions to the posted on the same site for the betterment
of the services.

Career guidance programs succeeds through fashion icon

The two lines that the crowd roared after Yjoy Krisma Cajes , a grade 8 contestant for the
search of Ms. Fasion-Icon 2019 answered during question and answer segment of the search for Mr.
and Ms. Fashion Icon 2019 at the Inopacan National High School (INHS) for Career Guidance
Program on August 1.
Each section from grade 7 to grade 12 had one male and one female as model representatives. They
were portraying according to the career suit or uniform they were wearing.
The highlight of the said pageantry were graced by the best of their sections namely: Athea Noreen
Zambra and Teoffi Kennedy Taguba ( G7 Crimson), Trisha Mae D. Omapas and jared E. Oliveros ( G7-
Green) , Zyrelle Mae E. Quiboy and Dominic M. Morales ( G7 Red), Giann Samuel O, Kudera and Kristine
Kate Malanguis ( G8 Orange), Cajes and Frank Lloyd L. Payot ( G8-Maroon) all from category A ; Rizza
D. Salbame and Charles Vincent J. Margate ( G9-Aquamarine) , Zaysa Grace E. Quiboy and Jaygee Jagle M.
Ramirez ( G9 Blue), Margielyn Dedal and Jhander Mitch Lemita ( G10- Lavender) , Shiela Mae B. Bisnar
and Jhan Welson Caluban ( G10 Pink) for category B ; Rashil Rae R. Recorte and Mark David Luable ( G11
Cyan), Raby Mae Nopal and Nick Etang ( G11 Magenta) , Jayla Josh B. Alejandrino and Reynard A.
Bongato ( G12 Viridian) , Hartsfel Laroa and Rupert Scott Salabao ( G12 Waxberry) for category C.

A representative from Local Department of Agriculture in the person of Ms. Melani Matin-ao also
shared and imparted her insights and knowledge while encouraging the learners to strive hard in reaching
their dreams before she announced the winners of each category.
The title holders were Yjoy Krisma Cajes and Frank Lloyd Payot both from G8 Maroon for category
A, for category B winners are Shiela Mae B. Bisnar (G10 Pink) and Jaygee Jagle M. Ramirez ( G9 Blue) and
Jayla Josh Alejandrino ( G12 Viridian) and Mark David Luable ( G11 Cyan) for category C.
The school head, Alejandro P. Renomeron, Principal II of INHS stood with his insights as education
possess an integral part of our life, proper guidance as well as correct and undoubted decision making should
be made possible, especially in choosing the field of courses after high school.
“Congratulations Sir Don for leading the success of this event as the organizer and to everybody who
did a great job. Praying for everyone’s brighter future ahead,” Mr. Renomeron added.
