Lucas Gagnon attended Timmins High and Vocational School for the four-year duration of his high school
career. He graduated with his grade twelve diploma in June of 2019 and earned a scholarship for outstanding
achievement.
As the Indigenous Student Advisor of the high school, I’ve had the opportunity to see Lucas in an academic
setting, as a role model for his peers and, as a youth avidly learning about his cultural heritage.
I have come to know Lucas as a hard-working student who perseveres and takes all necessary steps required
to achieve his goals. He faces challenges with confidence and determination never allowing them to get him
down. Lucas demonstrates a positive attitude towards learning and to working hard to get to where he wants
to be in life.
Lucas is a motivated individual who is responsible and serious about his studies as he works to the best of his
ability. He is a self-starter who completes all assignments and who prepares for tests because he takes pride
in the work he produces. Lucas knows what he wants and is not afraid to put in the effort required to get there.
All of these positive attributes make him an excellent role model for his peers.
His eagerness to learn about his culture is admirable as he would take healthy risks to gain new skills to give
him more opportunities and new experiences for personal betterment. By nature, Lucas is a successful person
as he demonstrates a strong work ethic, is quite determined to accomplish goals and is not afraid to try new
things.
I highly recommend Lucas in any field that he may choose because I know that he has what it takes to
succeed. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
With Regards,
]
