How to Operate Glue Gun

The word “Glue Gun” may sound dangerous for us, but it is not an actual
gun to shot a bullet. Instead it can help us in making a handicraft. In the process
the heat from the gun will melt the glue stick and turn it into liquid form that we
can   use   to   stick   anything   including   the   parts   of   our   handicraft.   Follow   these
following steps if you want to use the Glue Gun.

1. Check and clean the glue gun from any old glue clogging in the nozzle.
2. Put the glue stick into the gun nozzle.
3. Insert the plug into the electricity socket.
4. Prepare a sheet of paper and put the glue gun on it.
5. Wait until the gun gets warmer.
6. Squeeze the trigger gently to check if the glue stick has changed into
liquid form.
7. Finally you can apply it on any surface that you want to stick by using
this glue gun.

How to Use an Iron

Ironing   can   be   hard   activity   for   several   people,   even   though   today's
technology makes much simpler job of ironing. For those who still struggling in
ironing clothes, here are some steps to use an iron properly.
1. Plug your iron into a wall outlet close to your work area. Set the heat
level to match the fabrics that you will be working with.

2. Lay out your ironing board, if available. If you do not have an ironing
board, place a bath towel on a flat surface, such as a table or counter­
top.

3. Place your clothing item of the iron board or towel.

4. Spray starch can be used to give a nice finish to formal and business
wear.

5. Begin to iron the clothes.

6. After ironing is complete, hang the clothes, allowing it sufficient time
to cool before wearing.

The Process of Making Batik

1. The first wax is applied over the penciled­in outline of the pattern. Almost
always the original cloth is white or beige.
2. The cloth is dyed in the first dye bath. In this case the first dye bath is indigo
blue. The area of the cloth where the wax was applied in Step 1 will remain
white.
3. Second application of wax is applied. In this case it is a dark brown color. A
poorer quality of wax is used to cover larger areas of cloth. The darker color
helps to differentiate it from the first wax applied. Any parts that are covered
with this wax application will remain the indigo color.
4. The cloth is dyed in the second dye bath. In this case it is a navy blue. Any
areas that are not covered by wax will become dark blue.
5. All   the   wax   that   has   been   applied   thus   far   is   removed.   This   is   done   by
heating   the   wax   and   scraping   it   off   and   also   by   applying   hot   water   and
sponging off the remaining wax.
6. Wax is applied to the area of the fabric that the artist wishes to remain the
indigo blue color.
7. Wax   is   applied   to   the   area   of   the   fabric   that   the   artist   wishes   to   remain
white.
8. The fabric is submerged in the final dye bath. In this case it is brown. Any
areas of the cloth that have not been covered with wax will become brown.
9. The finished cloth after all of the wax has been removed.
