INTRODUCTION:

Water uptake is crucial for a plant to live and it is also known to have the ability
to test how a plant can absorb water in different atmosphere. The plant roots are
responsible for taking up water for the plants to have the source of energy inline with
the process of photosynthesis.

Meanwhile, photosynthesis is the process of gaining sunlight and turn it into

chemical energy in which it involves the help of water to produce oxygen and absorb
carbon dioxide from the atmosphere that they are exposed. The water that a plant
consume affects the physical appearance of a plant. Thus, this can show the central role
of water in the growth, source of food and survival of plants.

In this activity, the group is to utilize the cogon grass to make scientific
observations about water uptake. By the end of this activity, we will be able to draw
conclusions about the said experimentation in order to gather and analyze data.

OBJECTIVES:

At the end of this activity, the students can:

1. Make observations;
2. Do the experimentation; and,
3. Gather data

MATERIALS:

● 3 Test Tubes, Metric Scale, 2 Food coloring And Cogon Grass

CONCLUSION

The results shows that the cogon grass in Setup A,B,C is not the same. In Setup

A, the cogon grass colors remains the same since no factor cause it to change. Now for

the Setup B, the roots is the only one that turns completely violet and the stem only got

a hint of orange on it. Lastly in setup C, the stem only got a hint of orange and the root

change completely to red.
