Hi everyone and welcome!

I am honored to be giving this birthday toast to my longest and

closest friend -samuel.

First of all, a big thanks to all of you for joining us to celebrate samuel’ 23th birthday. I
would like to take a couple of minutes to talk about Samuel

I am so grateful to have such a great friend in my life! We met in Junior High, one of the
toughest years for any adolescent. This was a time of cute boys, funky make-up, and
trustworthy friends. In a time where stress is high we bonded and became life long friends.
Throughout the past 10 years I have seen Samuel grow to be a young man, caring and
loving person that he has become. When thinking about giving this speech tonight I decided
to focus on one quality that truly shines in Samuel . That quality is his passion!. This
passion has led him changing the lives of many students, friends and family.
While sitting in the most awful math classes of all time, Samuel looked at me and said that
he was going to be a teacher. And now he is the most passionate teacher that I know.
he truly strives every day to be there for his students in the most difficult years of their
lives. he has had students come back several years later, after graduating high school, and
thank him for changing the course of their lives by not only educating, but inspiring them.
You can see the passion he have for each other and his family. samuel has many roles to
play. He always attends every soccer game, gymnastic meet and party.
samuel has a passion for life. he is always the one planning parties. he is also there when
you need a shoulder to cry on. he is one of the most caring person that I know.
I am honored to call him my friend and to be here today to celebrate his 23th birthday.

To close I would like to share a quote by Carl W. Buechner that always reminds me of
“Samuel”.

"They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel."
