Ford to cut 450 jobs at Canada plant on Flex, Lincoln MKT production halt

Decision taken by No 2 U.S. carmaker to discontinue production of the Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT, due
to which Ford Motor Co will cut about 450 jobs from Oakville assembly plant, Statement given by
Canada’s largest private Union Unifor.

Lincoln MKT production ended earlier month of October and production of Ford flex will stop at the
end of November. Ford's move to stop production of the crossovers comes as the company is
expanding its truck and utility lineup and shedding passenger cars, except for its iconic Mustang sports
car.

Ford cuts full-year profit outlook as third-quarter profit dips.


Ford Motor Co cut its forecast for operating profit for the year after a disappointing third quarter
because of higher warranty costs, weaker performance in China than expected and bigger discounts.
Ford’s third-quarter sales in China fell by 30%.

Ford Motor co recalling about 1.48 million F-150 pickup trucks in North America due to a potential
transmission downshift issue that could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford said that model of 2011-2013 year trucks with six-speed automatic transmission could experience
and unintended downshift into first gear without warning, which could result in the loss of vehicle
control. Ford is aware if five Accidents.
