"Philippine Mayon Volcano"

•Mayon Volcano is located in the province of Albay of Bicol Region.

•It is the main landmark of the province of Albay.

•It is an active stratovolcano.

•Its first eruption was recorded on February 1, 1814.

•Erupted last September 18, 2014 and there's an ongoing eruption this January 2018 (latest).

•It is named after "Daragang Magayon"

•The name Mayon originated from Magayon which literally means "beautiful"

•The volcano has a height of 8077 feet or 2462 metres.

•Rocks around Mayon Volcano aged more than 20 million years old.

•Mayon Volcano has erupted 49 times in the last 400 years.

•It is declared as the first national park of the Philippines on July 20, 1938.

•Was reclassified as a Natural Park named Mayon Volcano Natural Park in the year 2000.

•It has a small crater and the upper slopes are steep with an average of 35 to 40 degrees.

•Its longest eruption happened in June 1897 that lasted for seven days.
