The Sinulog Festival is an annual cultural and religious festival held on

the third Sunday of January to honor Santo Niño (Child Jesus). In Don Carlos,
we the devotees of Santo Niño celebrate it every year.
We attended the mass early in the morning to show gratitude and love to
Santo Niño. The rosary and the singing of the songs of Santo Niño was done after
the mass as the sign of the beginning of the celebration of Sinulog Festival.
In our house, we had a small celebration to give joy to the people especially
our patron saint which is Santo Niño. Lechon, spaghetti, macaroni and desserts
were some of the foods we prepared to our guests and family friends.
It is not only in our house who celebrated the feast of the Child Jesus
because our neighbors were also busy entertaining their guests and preparing
some foods.
To make it more exciting and fun, the officials in our place prepared many
events. The highlights were Street Dancing, Sinulog Presentation and Battle of
the Bands (Rakrakan sa Don Carlos). The Sinulog Presentation and Street
Dancing is open to all muncipilaties and schools.
The whole Don Carlos experienced the heat and enjoyment of Sinulog
Festival. And I can say that the whole day celebration was worth it, unforgettable
and memorable.
