Detailed Lesson Plan 1
Detailed Lesson Plan 1
Objectives
A. Describe the three methods of heat transfer.
B. Distinguish in the given situation on how heat is transferred.
C. Infer the conditions necessary for heat transfer to occur.
Heat is the amount of thermal energy being transferred between bodies high
to low temperature.
C. Discussion:
Discussion about heat and the three methods of heat transfer.
Direction: Read the following situations and answer the guide questions.
1. There is a hot water in a cup and somebody put a metal spoon in the
cup. After few minutes, what will happen to the metal spoon?
Guide Questions:
a. Which method of heat transfer is applied to the given situation?
b. What is conduction?
c. What is the condition necessary for conduction to occur?
2. The freezer compartment is put at the top, warm air inside the
refrigerator, rises up, the cooler air inside the freezer region, sinks
down, keeping the whole fridge cool.
Guide Questions:
a. Which method of heat transfer is applied to the given situation?
b. What is convection?
c. What is the condition necessary for conduction to occur?
Guide Questions:
a. Which method of heat transfer is applied to the given situation?
b. What is radiation?
c. What is the condition necessary for conduction to occur?
E. Abstraction:
1. What is heat?
2. How heat is transferred?
IV. Evaluation
FRAYER MODEL: Write what is needed in the box.
TERM:
EXAMPLE: WHAT IS THE CONDITION FOR
/ THIS METHOD OF HEAT
TRANSFER TO OCCUR?

Conduction: cooking dishes like adobo, there should be direct
contact between the heat and the food to cook.
Convection:
cooked and improvised heater conduction
