Please see enclosed the manuscript entitled “Biogenic green synthesized selenium doped zinc
oxide nano-antibiotic (Se-ZnO-NAB): A battle against MRSA” for submission in International
Journal of Biological Macromolecules.

Emergence of antibiotic resistance is a global threat which needs attention to explore new
strategies addressing this issue. Metal based nanoparticles have shown tremendous potential as an
antibacterial agent against large number of organisms, suggesting them as “nano-antibiotics”.
Therefor, the present study was designed to develop selenium doped ZnO nano-antibiotic against
MRSA. The developed nano-antibiotic showed highly significant activity against MRSA
compared to several antibiotics including vancomycin. The total protein content and ROS
activities of MRSA in the environment of Se-ZnO-NAB stress were significantly increased. Thus,
the results suggested the Se-ZnO nano-antibiotic highly effective against MRSA.
Given the relevance and importance of this approach, we believe that International Journal of
Biological Macromolecules is the most relevant and appropriate journal for its proper dissemination.

We believe that this manuscript would impart high value and interest for the scientific community.
The manuscript, which publication is approved by all the authors, is based on new data that has
not been published earlier anywhere and it is not either under consideration for publication in any
other journal.
