Awareness on the Mangroves: A Community-based Assessment in Punta

Dumalag, Matina Aplaya, Davao City

Progress Report

Progress
As in the proposed methodology for this study, a survey was conducted in the area of Punta
Dumalag, Matina Aplaya, Davao City. Random local residents were interviewed within the
proximity of mangrove areas. Answers to the survey questions were gathered from a total of 30
respondents. This number may be quite inadequate due to the limited time and manpower.
However, a substantial result is still expected. There were also some modifications on the
survey questions as some were removed and additional variable was added. Some trends in the
data were already observed and also some expectations to the results because of the situation
of the area observed during the survey.
