Company Overview
In the early 1990s, HDI Instruments, LLC was encouraged by leading oil and gas operators to
develop a safe, accurate replacement for the inaccurate, hydraulic pressure gauges seen through-
out the industry. By 1991, HDI had successfully field proven the HDI 2000, a 6” Panel Gauge.
Its successor, the HDI 2000B, is used heavily in offshore well control applications by leading in-
ternational oil and gas operators and drilling contractors.
Today, HDI continues to be an industry leader in providing certified, intrinsically safe, and accu-
rate instrumentation for oil and gas applications worldwide. Our various types of instruments
are industry leading control and monitoring systems for high pressure, high temperature applica-
tions. Over the past 25 years, HDI has developed and continues to improve upon a suite of
products focused on surface monitoring which include: Pressure Gauges, Pressure Transmitters,
Pump Stroke Counters, Choke Position Indicators, and more.
Safety is critical to HDI’s success. Compared with the industry alternatives, HDI’s product line
enhances safety by providing more accurate and reliable instrumentation that is critical during
operations. With proper service, HDI’s instrumentation will give the user less downtime and
greater accuracy than industry alternatives.

System Overview
1 of 74 Version 17.2.0
2 of 74
The System Overview seen on the next page summarizes the battery power versus rig power distinction when
it comes to HDI’s products. There are two main options to achieve a battery powered system while providing 4
-20mA signals to a remote display in the Driller’s Cabin. During operations, rig crews should always be able to
read their pressures accurately from a distance, regardless of other operations onboard.
HDI’s battery powered instruments (shown in green) will continue to operate independently from any other
system, and will accurately give the user feedback when other systems may not be working. Transmitters and
other 4-20mA sensors (shown in red) require rig power at all times to operate leaving the sensors vulnerable
during unexpected losses in rig power.
HDI offers both battery powered and rig powered solutions, but recommends the battery power design be
strongly considered as a primary back up system as it gives the user a secondary display that is more accurate
and durable than industry alternatives, namely hydraulic pressure gauges.

APPLICATION
The HDI M100 Pressure Gauge is a solid-state electronic pressure gauge primarily used for standpipe, pumping, and cementing measurement applica-
tions. The HDI M100 is used where indication at the point of measurement is a must and the ability to handle high vibration and harsh environments is
crucial. It is easily readable regardless of the lighting conditions. This model offers pressure ranges up to 16,000 psi with accuracy of 0.5% of full scale
to NIST. It has been used in the field for over 10 years and is based on HDI’s 25 year field proven platform. All HDI Gauges provide safety, accuracy,
reliability, and low maintenance for the user.

The HDI Pressure Gauge is the product HDI was founded on. The HDI 2000B is our latest battery-operated cornerstone product; it is an intrinsically
safe, certified, solid-state electronic pressure gauge primarily used for choke console applications. It is easily readable regardless of the lighting
conditions. HDI routinely builds, installs, and services custom HDI 9000 Choke Console Systems designed with HDI 2000B gauges, but the 2000B
can also be purchased to retrofit standard 6” hydraulic gauges or for OEM use. HDI additionally offers stand-alone monitoring systems with the
2000B – anywhere the user needs a primary and/or secondary (slave option available) display. This model offers pressure ranges up to up to 16,000
psi with accuracy of 0.5% of full scale to NIST. Each 2000B is comprised of a Gauge Display, Inline Cable, and Sensor Assembly allowing the display
to be close or far from the connection point. It has been used in the field for over 25 years and is based on HDI’s 25 year field proven platform. All HDI
Gauges provide safety, accuracy, reliability, and low maintenance for the user.

TRANSMITTER SYSTEM
DATA SHEET
APPLICATION
The HDI 2021 Pressure Transmitter is an intrinsically safe, certified, field-repairable 4-20mA transmitter built with high quality components HDI is
known for throughout its line of products. The transducer (sensor) is an embedded strain gauge placed in a stainless steel housing. HDI’s Transmitter
is unique because of its field repairability. If the pill or internal board are damaged due to use over time, the user is able to order the spare parts
necessary to fix the unit quickly onsite, reducing downtime and saving on overall cost. Video tutorials are available to assist in the repair online.
The 2021 Transmitter is commonly housed in a 1502 Hammer Union. However, the customer may specify a variety of housings to suit their application
(2” 1502 Hammer Union, 2” 2202 Hammer Union, or a flanged connection). The transmitter is delivered as a complete assembly ready for installation.
All HDI Transmitters provide safety, accuracy, reliability, and low maintenance for the user.

2250 VALVE POSITION
INDICATOR SYSTEM
DATA SHEET
APPLICATION
The HDI 2250 Valve Position Indicator (VPI) System allows the user to monitor the position of manual and hydraulically actuated gate valves found
primarily on the choke manifold. Traditionally, manual gate valves do not have a position indicator found on the valve. The 2250 System solves this
problem by adding an adapter onto the valve, while not compromising the integrity or certification of the valve, to give the user valve position locally.
The user can also remotely see the position of all valves being monitored on a virtual P&ID of the entire manifold.
The 2250 can be utilized for non-rising stem gate valves taking into account various bonnet sizes and manufacturers. Once installed, this System
has little maintenance. The VPI System can be easily integrated with HDI’s V9000 Virtual Choke Console System and has been field proven for over 5
years offshore.
FEATURES OPTIONS
• Adapts to various manual gate valve sizes and models • Remote virtual position with client specific P&ID
• Does not compromise the integrity of the valve being monitored • Integration with HDI V9000 Virtual Choke Console System
• Namur and proximity switch capabilities
• Local and remote visual displays of valve position

3300 TEMPERATURE
GAUGE SYSTEM
DATA SHEET
APPLICATION
The HDI 3300 Temperature Gauge System is an intrinsically safe, certified, solid-state electronic temperature gauge routinely used for monitoring
high pressure nitrogen pumping, geothermal and mud based drilling, bulk liquid storage, well control manifolds, and flare stacks. This model offers
temperature ranges up to 150 Celsius or 300 Fahrenheit with 0.5% accuracy of full scale. Each gauge system is comprised of a Gauge Display, Inline
Cable, and Sensor Assembly allowing the display to be close or far from the point of measurement. All HDI Gauges provide safety, accuracy, reliability,
and low maintenance for the user.
