Materials: timer, technological devices (to access a google doc)

Students will: work together in several groups to create a mock practice exam.

Procedure (25 minutes):


 The teacher will begin by dividing the students into groups equally. If there is an
odd number, join stronger language acquisition students with the groups that
have less people. Let students become comfortable and situated before the
timer begins. (5 minutes)
 Explain to the students that this is an activity competing against time to create
an exercise/mock quiz to the other groups. The key to this assignment is to use
what we learned from class and apply it. Students will have 10 minutes to
complete. This activity is open-ended, so you can use your creativity wisely. The
components can include but are not limited to:
o Fill in the blanks
o Vocabulary words (word bank)
o Usage of past/future/present tense verbs
o Crosswords
(15 minutes)
 When the time is up, check to see that all documents are shared with the
teacher. Use them for next class with the other groups. Ask students how they
felt about this activity. micro-evaluation. (5 minutes)

Additional Tips:
The role of the teacher during those 15 minutes is to guide students toward an easier path and
to answer/clarify questions. The teacher should help narrow down ideas and thought
processes. It is normal for students to overcomplicate.
