BitBurialBox
Overview:
When insert bits are run, manufacturers recommend that insert structural burial not to
exceed 80%. When excessive burial occurs, the flow area is reduced causing
accelerated erosion and the bit load to be transmitted to the softer cone shell. This can
cause the cone shell to crack or break.
Calculated Data :

DxcBox
Overview:
'd' Exponent attempts to normalize drilling parameters so that formation drillability is the
primary parameter that will affect 'd' exponent calculations. These drillability numbers are a time proven
parameter to aid the engineer with pore pressure determination. As with any tool, the more accurate the
data inputs, the more accurate the results. The engineer can utilize 'dxc' the same as EWR. The values
can be utilized in the same pore pressure calculations and plotting routines as EWR and the same overlays
are used. They should be plotted at least every 25' (TVD) in clean shales.

(from Main Menu) to check what the pressure drop across the bit will be with the expected SPM. Be sure to
include additional BHA components, such as Mud Motor, and include this number in expected Delta P

(3). Pull an additional 40 - 60 klbs on the drill string and mark a second reference point. Record

Overview:
Note: When plotting EWR or Dxc values, extend the normal pressure trend line down to your present TVD
depth. This is your EWR / Dxc Normal Value. Your present EWR/Dxc value is your EWR / Dxc Observed Value.
This is only one tool to be utilized when estimating pressure parameters. USE ALL TOOLS AT YOUR
DISPOSAL! (Normal trend line values are from semi-log plots!)

Fracture
Overview:
Note: Average Densities are an average over the well thus far. They can be derived from SLD data, Shale Density
Measurements or from the Bulk Density of Cuttings Program (Main Menu). If no data is available, in deepwater wells, 2.0
g/cc for less than 5000' beneath ML and 2.14 g/cc after that seems to work well. The Engineer can use the density to fine
tune on one LOT and see how accurate the program is at the next casing point. Please note, the more accurate the pore
pressure prediction, the more accurate the results.

Avg ID
Overview:
This program will give an average ID of the drill pipe, taking into account the tooljoint Cancel
ID. This can be a considerable change when +/- 10% of the drillpipe is taken up by
tooljoints. The Engineer needs to caliper the tube of the drillpipe and the inner tube on
the pin end of the tooljoints. They need to measure an average joint of drillpipe and
measure the combined length of the tooljoints themselves.
Average ID Calculations:
