2017”
VISION

SAMBAYANANG PILIPINAS
(The Filipino Gifted for National Development)

MISSION

 To advocate for the equitable access to programs and services


in gifted education in the Philippines (in the areas of
identification and nurture of the potentially gifted);
 To develop programs that will ensure a holistic approach in
developing the potentially gifted in a wide range of cognitive
and artistic domains, creativity, leadership and foster their
social, emotional development and commitment to contribute
to national development;
 To mobilize the interest of different sectors of Philippine
society in advocating for the gifted and providing assistance to
them;

AIMS
 To facilitate professional development of teachers, psychologists,
counselors and others in providing assistance to the Filipino gifted
at all levels
 To make possible parent empowerment in the understanding and
managing their gifted children;
 To develop partnerships with local, national and international
organizations that advocate for the gifted and gifted education;
and
 To conduct researches that will aid in legislation particularly for
the understanding and management of the gifted through
programs that will nurture them.

 Conduct evidence based research as bases for policy and


educational practice
 Establish national and international linkages to help promote
programs on gifted education and services for the gifted
 To be a model for gifted education in the Philippines and the
ASEAN

THE SEARCH FOR MGA BAGONG RIZAL

 Started in 2011, 150TH Birth anniversary of our National Hero, Dr.


Jose P. Rizal
 JPR personifies the complete Filipino
 Success of initial search (35 young Filipinos) inspired PCGE to make
search biennial
 After the success of the first batch, PCGE intended to make the search
biennial, where children
 and youth who exude exemplary performance in their own fields are
gathered for activities that
 will boost their leadership skills, and to acquaint them further with
the life and efforts of Dr.
 Jose Rizal, the ideal example of a good Filipino citizen and the
impeccable model to the Filipinogifted.

WHY MBR?

 Nurture them on ideals of a good Filipino citizen particularly Dr. Jose


P. Rizal, the impeccable model for the Filipino gifted youth;
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
You are invited to submit nominations to the Mga Bagong Rizal: Pag-asa ng
Bayan Award 2013. Nominations will be received through mail from April 1,
2017 to August 30 2017.

SELECTION COMMITTEE

For the Final Selection:
PCGE Advisory Board

CRITERIA
A. Nominee
1. Nominee shall be from Grade 3 to College level in a public or private
school, vocational course, or an out of school youth (OSY);
Elementary ( Grades 3 to 6)
Secondary (1st year to 4th year High School)
Tertiary ( Enrolled in Tertiary or Voc. Tech Program)
2. Should belong to the top 5% of their class; (for OSY) top 5% of last class
attended; or has been recognized for their outstanding ability or
excellence in one or more of the multiple intelligences (confirmed through
awards , local , regional, national, international);
3. At the time of nomination, has an existing project or is actively
involved in an activity that shows concern for others; Has shown
commitment to school, community, regional or national goals through
documented involvement in projects and activities;
4. Has shown exemplary behavior, conduct, values, and interpersonal
relationship skills;
5. Has shown leadership potential;
6. Is willing to perform the duties and obligations attendant to being chosen
Bagong Rizal 2013;

B. Nominator
1. Any Filipino residing in the Philippines;
2. School, community (i.e. barangay) socio-civic organizations, religious
groups, government/non-government agencies;

NOMINATION PROCEDURES

1. All Regional Development Council Chairs will start accepting


nominations for the Regional Short-listing.

2. Each RDC will shortlist nine (9) nominees (to represent the region)
for final selection.

3. Members of the PCGE Advisory Board and representative of Mercury


Drug Foundation will be assigned to different sites to personally interview
the nominees from different regions. (Schedule and venue to be
announced)

4. The PCGE Advisory Board will deliberate and choose seventeen (17)
awardees from the shortlisted nominees.

5. PCGE will inform the seventeen (17) awardees by e-mail and/or


telephone.

6. The seventeen (17) awardees will have their orientation, leadership


and skills training, and projects planning. (Schedule and venue to be
announced)

7. The seventeen (17) Mga Bagong Rizal: Pag-asa ng Bayan will have
their oath-taking and awarding ceremony. (Schedule and venue to be
announced)
Documents Required:
1. Duly accomplished nomination form with picture
Acceptance of nominee (signature)

2. Recommendations from three (3) persons who know the nominee


3. Portfolio
• Curriculum vitae
• Best work
• Awards (regional, national, international awards)
• Pictures/documents to support awards
• One-page essay (Why do you think you deserve to be one of the
17 Mga Bagong Rizal Awardees?)

All nominations and supporting documents should not be more than 50


pages and should be addressed and mailed to the Regional Development
Council where the nominee resides.

Expectations of awardees:
1. Should be present at the awards ceremony;
2. Undergo the leadership training conducted during the week of the
awards
3. Make a progress report of the existing project presented during the
nomination or submit a new project proposal;
4. Represent the PCGE at meetings, conferences, or others which will
require the presentation of the center’s mission/vision/activities;
5. Be involved in other activities of the PCGE especially during the week
for the Gifted;
6. Keep an updated journal of their activities emphasizing how these
enhance their being Filipino and how, like Dr. Jose Rizal, they can show
their love for country and people;
