    Jupiter, Neptune, and Minerva each created something to determine who could make the most perfect earthly creation. Jupiter created man, Neptune created a bull, and Minerva created a house. Momus was appointed as judge but found faults in each creation - for man he noted the lack of a window to the soul, for the bull the placement of horns above its eyes, and for the house its lack of wheels. However, Jupiter felt Momus was too critical and not wise in his judgments, so he banished Momus from Mount Olympus for finding faults in others' works.

    Jupiter, Neptune, Minerva and Momus
    Mount Olympus was the home of the breast. How can his inward thoughts
    gods. and feelings be seen?"
    One day, Jupiter, Neptune, and Momus said of Neptune's creation:
    Minerva decided to meet.
    "The bull is also not a great creation
    Jupiter was the god of all the gods. because its horns are above its eyes.
    How could it see when it butts with
    Neptune was the god of the sea. the horns?"
    Minerva was the goddess of wisdom.

    Of Minerva's creation, Momus said:


    Jupiter, Neptune, and Minerva met to
