BARANGAY NAGKAYSA
“Nagkaysa was a part of Poblacion West before 1961. It was registered later at the
municipal, provincial and national offices through the assistance of Atty. Ildefonso
Rodrigo and Atty. Felimon Corpuz, both working with PACD in San Nicolas. It was
named “Nagkaysa” because of the concerted efforts of the barangay residents at
Aglipay St., Quezon Extension St., Patricio St., Mckinley St., Burgos St., and Mejia St.
Pioneering barangay officials were: Sergio Francia, Brgy. Capt. Felipe Cancino, Alejo
Corpuz, Desiderio Peria, Claudio Quinto and Enrique Bautista as councilmen.”
Under the administration of the Hon. Moises S. Lagua from 2007-2018, more projects
were constructed and completed through the IRAs funds/concerted efforts/Iof 2007-
2010; 2010-2013 Barangay Council and Sangguniang Kabataan, also funded by the
local, and national government, such as construction of OSCA, construction of road
shoulder in three Sitios: Aglipay, Centro and Marunggay; rock gardens, flowers boxes,
installation of street lights for the whole barangay, installation of deepwells, box culvert
along Aglipay Street, and other projects.
In June 2018, new set of Sangguniang Barangay Members were officially announced to
the public, the ones who won the 2018 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.

Providing basic services such as: water and sanitation, peace and order, formulating
measures to eradicate drug addiction, promote a safe and healthy environment, health
care, education, creating livelihood opportunities, maintain barangay-owned properties
and infrastructures, preserve the comfort and convenience of the inhabitants and
promote the well-being of the youths.
1. To improve the peace and order in the community through an intensive anti-drug
campaign.
2. To install CCTV camera to prevent crime related concerns and lessen accidents
at night.
3. To repair Barangay canals as a preventive measure against floods during rainy
seasons and to prevent erosion.
4. To construct/install deepwells in order to have a source of water that is
accessible, free and potable.
5. To protect and enhance the environment.
6. To promote cleanliness and sanitation through waste segregation, compost pit
and to strictly implement the RA 9003 “Tamang Pamamahala ng Basura”
7. To create livelihood programs/projects for unemployed housewives and women
to augment income in order to improve the living conditions of the family.
8. To encourage the farmers to use new technologies and planting methods to
increase crop production, i.e., certified seeds, fertilizers and pesticides.
9. To promote cooperation among Senior citizens organizations.
10. To promote quality in education by the use of Educational Technologies.
11. To continue supporting programs aimed towards improvement of the welfare of
the youth such as sports activities, livelihood trainings and seminars, clean and
green campaign and thus promote their participation in the community affairs.
12. To acquire knowledge and enhance skills of the newly-elected and re-elected
Barangay Officials.
13. To strictly implement the laws and regulations governing the community.
Nagkaysa has a total land area of 43.713 (has.). Has a total population of 1,211; No of
households 253; No. of Children; as of 2018 census. “Agricultural productions are corn
and palay. Means of transportation: motorcycle, tricycle; Telecommunications sun,
globe, smart, PLDT; Postal Communication Power and Electrification PANELCO III;
Water Supply and Irrigation; Potable Water Supply Level III”; One Elementary School,
the West Central School; and one High School, Red Arrow High School; Religious
denominations: Roman Catholic, United Methodist, Iglesia ni Cristo, Baptist, United
Church of Christ in the Philippines, Jesus the Living Water, Jesus is Lord. The roads
were concrete and asphalted.
There’s no Barangay Library as well as Barangay Clinic. The barangay health workers
who considered the frontliners in providing health care services for the barangay are
performing their duties well.
