ASTROLOGY FOR BEGINNERS MADE EASY

MODULE 6A. THE FOUR ANGLES

KEY WORDS FOR ASTROLOGY see from Page 106
www.astrologysue.com

Looking at chart wheel from week 1 the 4 angles (90 degrees apart) should be
added as follows: the Ascendant, Asc.; the Mid-Heaven, MC.; the Descendant,
Dsc. and the Imum Coeli, IC.

Normally we just write in the abbreviation we begin with Asc written outside the
circle to the left hand side of the horizontal line (between 12 and 1), the IC goes at
the bottom of the vertical line (between 3 and 4), the Dsc goes on the right hand
side of the horizontal line (between 6 and 7) and MC at the very top (between 9
and 10).

The Ascendant, Asc.

The Ascendant is the degree of the ecliptic over the eastern horizon at the moment
of birth. It is the starting point of an astrological chart interpretation, it indicates
the foundation of the personality, and shows how a subject adapts to his or her
environment.

The Descendant, Dsc.

This is the degree of the ecliptic which is setting below the western horizon at the
moment of birth. It is always the cusp of the seventh house, the house of
partnerships, and therefore invariably relates to it.

The Midheaven, MC
The Midheaven or MC marks the degree of the zodiac that is quite simply, at the
top of the sky at the moment and place of birth. In our charts the sign on the MC
represents how we want to be seen by our peers and what we aspire to.

The Imum Coeli, IC.

The Imum Coeli or IC marks the point in the sky immediately beneath the point in
the sky at the moment of our birth. It symbolises our roots, and relates strongly to
the matters governed by the fourth house of the home and where we come from.
