About Ray’s Cafe

Ray’s Cafe is a casual waterfront restaurant and bar located above Ray’s Boathouse.
This Ballard neighborhood favorite offers beautiful views of the Puget Sound and the
Olympic Mountains. Originally opened in 1939 as a boat rental and bait house, Ray’s
added a coffee shop in 1945 and the signature sign in 1952. While ownership has
passed hands a few times since then, the restaurant has maintained its’ friendly, warm-
hearted attitude. For more information about Ray’s story or the full time menu visit
