Retail Development Advisory Consultant:

“A facilitator in providing holistic advisory services and innovative asset management solutions to retail owners and leading

I. Main responsibilities included:

• Supporting on Design, Feasibility and Leasing Advisory throughout the entire life cycle of a retail development.

Civil Engineer (as part of the Atkins Graduate Development Programme):

I. Towards the latter end of my tenure, I worked on the Dukhan Highway Project (DHP) as a Project Engineer, where
my primary responsibility involved Project/Design Managing all elements of the Landscaping scope of works;
valued at over £ 20,000,000.00. Close liaison with the Contractors (CCC), the Sub Contractors (GHC), the PMC
(KBR), frequent site visits and conscientious monitoring and tracking of activities, were all required in ensuring all
elements of the Project Management Model; Time, Cost, Scope and Quality, were achieved to the desired standard.

II. Further to the above, the following roles were also undertaken during this period:

• Tunnels Engineer – Selected as the main point of contact for the Tunnels team in Qatar and deputised for
the Senior Tunnels Engineer where possible, in liaison, design and technical expertise. The role involved
heavy coordination with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure deliverables, such as Validation Reports and
other similar Reports, Comments Sheets (ERSs and DRSs) and Analyses for each Tunnel section, were
completed and submitted before the stipulated deadline.
• Structural Engineer – Analysed and performed the Detailed Design of the Underground Rail Structures -
the Stabling Yards and Switchboxes for the Doha Metro Gold Line Project. Design softwares such as Robot
Structural, Revit Structures and AutoCAD were utilized in this endeavour.
• Stations Design Coordinator – Attended high-level interface meetings, jotted down MoM and ensured all data
received from all participating stakeholders (CJV, Arcadis, WP, Kone, etc.) via ProjectWise/Aconex were examined
and disseminated to the relevant Global Design Centres to maintain seamless progress of works.
• Claims Engineer - Worked independently on a legacy, Infrastructure Project; Khalifa, Rayyan and
Bustan, to facilitate a Design Claim, prepared as per strict guidelines of the Client (KBR & Ashghal) and
Approving Body (EBD), in reconciling outstanding payments worth up to £ 1,500,000.00. Frequent liaison with the
above-said bodies was required for the success of this exercise.
• Assistant Civil Engineer – Supported the Director of Infrastructure in preparing numerous Claims for historic
and live projects related to Design Claims, Extension of Time, Increase in Staff Costs and Resources, Project
Penalties, etc. Moreover, worked alongside the Regional Bids Director in the preparation of Tenders and
Projects for Clients and consequently liaised with said Clients and external organisations for various queries/
clarifications.
Experience with, Faithful & Gould, Qatar (May’14–Dec ‘14)

Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Project Manager:

I. During my time at Faithful & Gould, my responsibilities and day-to-day activities included:

• Analysing technical drawings and specifications to identify elements from the smallest to the largest component;
using CESMM3 rules of measurement.
• Preparing Site-Instructions according to the Client's orders.
• Producing layout drawings for Site-Instructions using design software such as AutoCAD.
• In itiating change requests for matters requiring the formalization of Variation Orders.
• Putting together Variation Orders by comparing and assessing submissions of the Contractor and the Consultant so
that cost impacts (cost savings/cost increases) or time impacts on the project could be identified and reported to the
Client.
• Reviewing the Contractor's monthly interim payment applications and issuing the interim payment certificates
accordingly.
• Preparing Claims for Extension of Time (EoT), Increase in staff costs and resources and Design changes for the
Dukhan Highway Project and a variation project (Doha Land); produced five successful Addenda.
• Ensuring all incoming and outgoing correspondence were documented and filed in a methodical manner.

II. On top of all this, I gained a considerable amount of knowledge in Contract Administration practices, procedures,
different Contract types, Contract terms and provisions, bidding and procurement routes.
Experience with, Henkel (M) – A Fortune500 Company, Malaysia (Jun’12-Sep’12)

Process Control Engineer:


I. Completed my industrial training at Henkel (M), where my main responsibility was in process-control for Solder
Material & Metal Coil production. Throughout the entire programme, multitudes of data were analysed with the sole
intention of maximising productivity.
II. Every week a major project, amongst others was given, where experiments were conducted and observations and
results had to be presented in the form of detailed reports.
III. Nearly all inferences made on these projects were used to improve further, the methods and quality of production,
the health, safety and environment of the site and overall machine/production efficiency.
IV. The internship provided a significant amount of knowledge and experience in working at a Multi-National
corporation and in turn, helped me understand and assimilate into the corporate life.
