Project structure

All the project roles and their relationship to the organisational management structure
need to be determined for each project or type of project, taking into account its scale
and nature. The interests of the various roles differ.
Project governance should seek to ensure that the outputs from each project will deliver
outcomes that are consistent with organisational policy and strategic objectives.
It is important to establish a project management structure that focuses on achieving
results through managing opportunities, risks, stakeholders and making the best use of
resources.
A project management structure can be simply illustrated by the following diagram:
