TRAVEL BLOG

HYDERABAD
I spent this year’s summer vacation in Hyderabad, the capital of
Telangana. I visited many different places which included religious,
scientific, historical, and entertaining places.

On the first day, I started of my journey with the Birla Temple which
is located on a hill top. The temple was white with beautiful
architecture and scenery with precised works on the walls of temple.
Inside the temple reside the Lord Venketashwara, who was laden
with precious jewels, gems, gold and diamond. Everyone who came
to visit the Temple donated huge amounts of gold. Then we got a
huge ladoo as a Prasad which was very tasty.

Then after walking few meters down the hill, our next stop was BM
Birla Science Museum. It is a very educational place. First we went
through the 3-storyed museum which contained Physics practical
models which I enjoyed and learned a lot from. Then I saw histories
of battles and fossils of dinosaurs. It was very well equipped and fun.
Then I went to the Birla Planetarium where I saw the sky theatre and
all cosmic views. I learned about different constellations, stars, and
how people used stars as calendars.

We ended the day by going to NTR garden. We sat on the toy train
and tried all the different types of rides. We also took a few
photographs and walked and played around there. It also has a small
shopping complex.

The next day I kicked off the tour with Golconda Fort, a pre-historic
fort. From its top, we could get a beautiful view of the city and also
enjoyed the market there. It was very big and climbing it under the
scorching sun was quite a difficult task but the effort was worth it.

We passed through the Hussain Sagar Lake and clicked photos

around the lake. It is also known as The Heart of The World by
United Nation World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). There is a
Buddha statute upon the Rock of Gibraltar.

The later day, we went to Ramoji City. It took us a whole day to tour
the place. We saw different film sets like airport, jail, railway station
and that of Mahabharata. We went through the Botanical Garden
which has different species of bonsai and then to the bird sanctuary.
I also rode on different amusement rides like the giant wheel,
carousel, and the boat etc. We also moved in the tour bus and had
loads of fun.

The very next day we decided to go to Charminar, which is a United

Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
heritage. We climbed to the top of Charminar and roamed around it.
Then we roamed and did some shopping around Lad Bazaar which is
where the Charminar is located. It looked just like a Bangle souk
which was filled with different variety, pattern, design and
embellishment of bangles. It has also got a load of jewellery
showrooms selling gold, diamond, silver, platinum and jewels.
From there our next stop was Salar Jung Museum which is an art
museum containing variety of metallic artefacts, sculptures,
paintings, carvings, textiles, manuscripts, ceramics, carpets, clocks,
and furniture from Japan, China, Burma, Nepal, Persia, Egypt, and
India in the 1st century. It was very huge and mostly contained real
artefacts and paintings.

Overall, my summer tour in Hyderabad was awesome and fun-filled.

Also I got a new view of the rich cultural and geographical heritage of
Hyderabad the way in which I have seen before. From beautiful
monuments to temples to a lot of educational places, Hyderabad
sure does vary in its tourist places.
