1.1) INTRODUCTION

Air-conditioning (often referred to as AC, A/C, or Air-Cond) is the process of removing heat
and moisture from the interior of an occupied space, to improve the comfort of occupants. Air-
conditioning can be used in both domestic and commercial environments. Air-conditioners
often use a fan to distribute the conditioned air to an occupied space such as a building or
a car to improve thermal comfort and indoor air quality. Electric refrigerant-based AC units
range from small units that can cool a small bedroom, which can be carried by a single adult,
to massive units installed on the roof of office towers that can cool an entire building.

The aim of this project is to produce innovation product by using waste material. Due to the
problem of heat, our team planning to produce Portable-Aircond where it is eco green and not
harm the environment.

1.2) PROBLEM STATEMENT

Air-conditioning units are expensive devices both to buy and to run. When they stop working,
that’s also an expensive problem to solve. Even so, if you live in a location with unbearably
hot summers, an AC unit is essential. Not everyone has that option, though, but they no longer
need it because the Portable-Aircond here to solve the problem.

1.3) OBJECTIVE

 Prove that waste material can be used to create something unexpected

 Create innovation that can be made by all people.
 aving manufacturing costs and easy-to-find materials
1.4) METHODOLOGY

The scientific principle behind air coolers, known as, evaporative cooling is quite simple. It
refers to a common natural phenomenon that regularly occurs in our environment. Perhaps the
best way to relate to this is via the use of a swimming pool. That cooling effect that one
experiences after coming out of the pool occurs similarly. As dry air blows through the water
on your skin, it absorbs some of the water. As this water turns into gas, heat switches from the
much higher air temperature to the lower water temperatures. This natural air circulation thus
cools the skin area around it.

A modern evaporative cooler operates using the same principle. Its fan draws outside air to
pass through wet filter pads. This filters any impurities in the air and decreases its temperature
as the water in the pads evaporates. The resultant cooler air is then directed into the target
building to circulate and cool it. The air cooler’s filter pads are made wet by a water pump. It
pumps the water up to the top of the filter pads from where it then trickles down. The humidity
concentration of the supplied air is raised. However, this isn’t necessary if the air experiences
enough cooling.

Figure 1.4.1: Principle of our concept

In order to design the model which will cool both air and water, heat exchangers theory should
be understand. In order to modify existing desert cooler heat exchanger analysis should be
done. So here the process on how we plan to make it.

 First, we use used box and cut it into dimension which its length 45cm and width 30cm.
 Use 12v motor to rotate the blade and the air flow will go through the ice container and
produce a cool wind.
 This product can be used by electric plug or run by batteries.
 Beside used the plain water also can be used and produce a cool wind.

1.5) Expected result

 After making this product, the acceptable result is that consumers can use aircon at low
cost and not too expensive and can be made for themselves.

 In addition, this product is capable of handling hot temperatures but also helps in a good
ventilation system. This is because hot temperatures also make a person in a state of
stress and productive work interrupted.

 Finally, this product can save electricity because of its portable and convenient use.

1.6) Conclusion

In conclusion, temperature plays an important role in our lives. Aeration space is also
one of the important factors in providing good health. In fact, the temperature of the
room is too high for one to lose because of extreme stress. We have not run away from
the finances that we get caught in a tight situation, where we cannot afford to buy the
existing Air-Cond because of being unable. Looking at these factors we can create
something using wasted materials. The hope that this generated Air-Cond can solve the
problem and be able to provide valuable returns.
