DIRECTIONS: From the 2 freeway exit Mountain and head west (down the hill) to Verdugo. Right (north) on Verdugo.
At the split in the road veer left on Canada. Park entrance will be approximately 0.2 miles after road splits. FREE parking is
available inside the park at the south end OR directly across from the park on Canada. Please DO NOT park in the residential
neighborhood north of the park!

THE COURSE: Race takes place in a beautiful urban park shaded by trees. Start/finish will be on east lawn. Course is a mix of
pavement, dirt and grass. The championship course is mostly flat with a challenging downhill U-turn then run up, twisting
through mulch, a fast approach stairs section, fast approach double barriers, and two timies through the infamous Tot Park Sand
Trap©! Each lap is approx. 3.5km in length. Races are timed circuits on the course based on race category.

THE VENUE: Verdugo Park is one of the crown jewels in the City of Glendale park system. Though it is in the middle
of a residential neighborhood it features ample grass, mature shade trees, a sparkling creek, great picnic areas, and a
renowned skate park!

REGISTRATION: Save $$$, save time and pre-register on-line at SportsbaseOnline Go to: www.SoCalCross.org and click on
the registration link. Online registration closes Thursday, November 26th at 11:59PM (Pacific). Race Day registration is
available opens at 7:30am and closes 20 minutes prior to each race category start.

CYCLOCROSS RACING AGE: A rider’s racing age for the 2010-11 cyclocross season is the 'racing age' you’d be the year of the
World Championships which take place in January 2011. Therefore one’s CX racing age you’d be on Dec 31, 2011.

ENTRY FEES: Pre-Registration entry fee is $28.00 (add $7 for race day entry) for all CX categories except, Juniors (10-18 yrs)
race Junior race for FREE with USA Cycling license, or purchase one-day license for $10. Juniors must pay regular entry fee for
category races if NOT entering Junior race. Additional race entries are just $5.00 per race.
A valid USA Cycling license is required for all race participants. Annual licenses can be purchased online at: www.USACycling.org
or at race day registration. Cost for USAC annual license is $60 ($30 for Juniors) and expire on 12/31/2010. A 2011 license
can be purchased starting 12/1/2010. A One-Day license is available with pre-registration at SportsbaseOnline.com or on race
day for $10. One day licensed riders can only participate in races.

2010 SCNCA Championship Eligibility: Per USAC rules, here are the requirements to enter any SCNCA Championship
event:
1. You must have an annual USA Cycling license. You cannot enter with a one-day license, a foreign license, or with a CBR
license.
2. You must be a USA Citizen or a Permanent Resident. If your license has an "N" for Citizen, you will not be able to register for
the race.
3. Riders who meet the entry requirements, but live outside the SCNCA territory, can compete but are not eligible for any title,
medal, or jersey. The three top spots are reserved for the first three SCNCA riders.

RULES: Races are timed circuits on the course based on race category. Riders will finish on the lap of the race wave leader.Event
held under USA Cycling Permit. All 2010 USA Cycling and CX rules apply. Event will be held rain or shine, no refunds.
Cyclocross and Mountain Bikes (no bar ends) are welcomed. Bike and wheel changes are allowed in the designated pit areas.
Riders must wear helmets when on the bike at all times. Riders shall stay on the course or existing trails. Please respect the
venue and local residents. No feeds are allowed on course except under discretion of the race officials. Sleeveless jersey/shirts
are not allowed.
Warming up on the Course Once the last rider has crossed the line in the current active wave, the officials will allow riders to
“pre-ride” the course so they can become familiar with route. Once the next race has started, they need to withdraw from the
course before the first rider passes them. There should be enough time for them to complete one lap. As in the past, these riders
cannot cross the finish line.

As a general rule, Road and MTB riders who race Cyclocross should be racing in categories as listed below.
Cyclocross Cat 1: Road Pro or Cat 1; MTB Pro Cyclocross Cat 2: Road 2; MTB 1 or 2
Cyclocross Cat 3: Road 3 or 4; MTB 1 or 2 Cyclocross Cat 4: Road 4 or 5; MTB 3; One-day license

RESULTS: Race results will be posted near the awards area immediately following each race. Please make sure to check your
results within the 15 minute posting/protest period or they will be final. Weekly Race Results and Overall Series Standings are
posted online at: www.SoCalCross.com
