Objective

This application will teach young kids how to spell. There are so many apps for young children
to play games on and learn colors and shapes, but you don’t see a lot of apps that teach kids
how to spell in a fun way.

Target Audience
This application is for young children about 5-8 years old. At these ages, kids are just learning
how to spell simple words. Not only would it help kids learn how to spell, it will help them learn
how to read as well.

Projected Outcomes & Benefits

This app will benefit others by allowing children to work on reading and spelling at home. With
the way society is today, kids are always on their tablets, so why not encourage them to learn
and play at the same time?

Description of Content
I am wanting to make different grade levels so that children of different ages can get involved. I
will create a button that kids who don’t know how to read yet can click to hear the words being
read to them. Additionally, I will create a fun video game like sense to it where children feel like
they are achieving more as they do better. Text will be in a fun but easy to read font. Bright
colors and animals also appeal to most children, so those will be used as well.
