An orbit refers to a uniform path that an object in space takes around another object, for

example, a planet orbiting around a stellar mass. This is due to a force called gravity (the
force that causes apples to fall toward the ground), and we say that the centripetal force (a
force that makes a body follow a curved path/circular path) is brought around by the force b
of gravity (the gravitational force, a force that attracts any object with mass. Planets are
pulling on every other object in the entire universe. This is also referred to as Newton's
Universal Law of Gravitation).
