Examination is one of strategies to measure one's abilities.
Examination is to measure the
knowledge of a person or student. Exams are also made as an evaluation tool to measure to what extent knowledge and skills acquired. Exams can encourage someone to learn well. Examination consists of some questions that should be answered, the correct answer will give score or additional point and the wrong answer will give null point or sometimes minus point. In Education, the students are given examination for passing grade to the next level. And the questions must be related to the topic they have studied, if not most likely all of students cannot answer the questions or they will have bad score. Therefore, the question maker or teacher especially in education who makes the question must consider good questions that will be given to the students, and the benchmark of good questions is concerned with validity, so the teacher should consider the validity of the questions.
Validity is the extent to which a concept, conclusion or measurement is well-founded and
likely corresponds accurately to the real world (Rich et. al. : 2018). Validity is concerned with valid or good of a thing, and something can be valid if there is no mistake or error found inside that thing. There are many types of validity, namely face validity, Construct validity, Content validity etc. While in this study the authors attempt to conduct research about content validity in final examination of seventh grade of SMA 1..., Content validity is a non-statistical type of validity that involves “the systematic examination of the test content to determine whether it covers a representative sample the behaviour domain to be measured” and content validity evidence involves the degree to which the content of the test matches a content domain associated with the construct and it defines a universe of items and systematic sampling within this universe to establish the test’s validity (Baghestani, A.R., : 2019). A test has content validity built into it by careful selection of which items to include. So this research tries to find the content validity of the final examination of SMA... with perception of the teacher and the students. Rich, R.C. & Brian, C.L. & Manheim, J.B. & Willnat, L. (2018).
