REFLECTION PAPER

Justify the Reasons Why Education Laws and Policies Are Very Important

In education system, laws and policies play a crucial function in providing quality

education to our learners. The law provides accountability and responsibility to the school,

teacher, learner, and community as a basis for the foundation of educative process.

Compliance with appropriate education laws and government policies is vital, and a

knowledgeable education lawyer can make sure that your school or university isn’t really

breaking any laws.

For instance, educational laws and policies serves as a protection to the teacher

and learner. Let us take the example of the Child protection Policy by the Department of

Education, this policy is a compliance to the R.A 7610 which cater the best and utmost

welfare of the child. That the learners’ right must be protected all the time. This law also

serves as a clear protection to the teacher. Because of this law the teachers are more

aware of the vital rights of their learner.

Students, teachers and other staff deserve to feel that they are physically and

psychologically secure in their environment. In order to create this

environment, policies are formulated and created to ensure safety standards for the

physical environment and mental state of students and staff. This is done by creating

policies such as fire drills, anti-bullying policies and mental health guidelines.

In order for an institution to encourage higher learning, policies must be put in place

and goals must be set by the school board. These policies establish standards and help

hold schools and educators accountable to the public. This is important for relating

education to the community and making it responsible to the larger world. Accountability

through the use of goal-oriented policies and ensure that students receive valuable

education.
Policies are important because they help a school establish rules and procedures

and create standards of quality for learning and safety, as well as expectations and

accountability. Without these, schools would lack the structure and function necessary to

provide the educational needs of students. Ultimately, policies are necessary to the

success and safety of a school.
