Routes
A football route is a path that a receiver runs to get open so the QB
can pass the ball forward. Players that usually run routes are wide
receivers, tight ends, running backs, and sometimes other positions that can
play as a receiver.

A simple route is the dig. The dig is where a wide receiver or any
receiver that I listed above run straight from their starting position at the line
of scrimmage then makes a 90 degree turn toward the middle so when the
QB can throw them the play so they can run a straight play if the ball is not
intercepted.

Key Vocab-
Route- a play a receiver can run to pass the ball
Dig- a certain type of route that you run straight and then make a 90 degree turn
QB-Quarterback; the person that throws the ball to a receiver at the beginning of a play.
Intercepted- If the other team catches the ball when their opposing quarterback throws it.
Line of Scrimmage- An imaginary line that separates the two teams in the beginning of a play
