Davao city is known for it is beautiful sceneries like Mt. Apo. After savoring the beauty
of the urbanized city the last stop would be to bring home something. Davaoeños are known for
their handstitched souvenirs which I think was a perfect pasalubong for my friends. The wallet
that I brought is made from hand dyed, hand drawn batik, hand embroidered, hand stitched
applique, and cotton. It come with different shapes and sizes and also variations of colors and
designs. You can also personalized it and put your name on it or the person you are about to give
these wallets to. It is being sold for an affordable price of 15 pesos and if you buy for 10 pieces
and can be sold to the price of 100 pesos. The store where I bought the wallet is located at the
heart of the city, I have noticed it like Binondo Manila of Davao because of many souvenir shops
where you can also find different products like abaniko, batik bags, and even handcrafted pearls
you can also look for and go to food stalls that have variations and has a hint of durian which is
also Davao’s best like durian candies and ice creams which I would definitely suggest to all
tourists. The beauty of buying these kinds of products is that it shows promotion and respect not
just to the city of Davao but also to the people living there. It is also has its uniqueness in terms
of the materials and how it is done compared to foreign countries which are more expensive. The
wallet is done not with machines or any technology but with bare hands and old techniques from
native Davaoeños that made it more special and makes it express the Filipino concept of art.
Filipino’s are known for being creative and being hardworking people we are known worldwide
with these attributes and we share it to different cultures as well. These products are helping the
Filipino art to be preserved and to prevent it from dying. That is why Philippines is being visited
by thousands of tourist every day because of the beauty of our culture and the uniqueness of our
art. If you got the chance to visit places from othe regions do not forget to buy these product
because it would not just help the people who made it but also the preservation of art in the
Philippines will be nourished as well. It is just for an affordable price so there is no harm in
buying. You can also make the person you are about to give this to especially when you put their
