I. TIME CONTEXT

It was said the public teachers complained to DepEd for having excessive workloads. An

article was created last September 25, 2018 by Sofia Tomacruz under Rappler.

It was explained that the teacher’s dignity coalition camps wanted to change the

monitoring systems and paperwork.

A press briefing that day also, September 25, 2018, Education Secretary Leonor Briones

uttered that DepEd “does not exist” for teachers to suffer and that the issues raised were not

caused by the department.

Still, the brought demands were still unanswered. These teachers are looking forward to

solve the issue.

II. VIEW POINT

This case study will take the viewpoint of overworked employees. The public school

teachers from Metro Manila who experienced inhumane conditions.

III. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Teachers nowadays have to take on so much work. They have to strive hard to cope

with deadlines and heavy workloads. As a result, they cannot set aside any time for recreation or

for their social life. This may also give rise to mounting stress, which directly accounts for the

deterioration in their overall health and overall productivity

IV. OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the study are the following:

Short term:

● To improve the work satisfaction of the teacher

● To increase the competition and reputation of the school

● To have better management

Long term:

● To increase the motivation of the teachers

● To improve their work performance

● To stabilized the employment of the school

● To improve the work accuracy

V. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION / SWOT ANALYSIS

The following are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in accordance

with the information the researchers obtained from the case:

Strengths ● Good health conditions

● Lesser workload for each employees

● Reduce employees’ turnover

Weaknesses ● It would be costly

VII. RECOMMENDATION

In accordance with the issue stated, we, the researchers, recommend the alternative

course of action 2, which is to increase the benefits given to the employees in order to work

efficiently. In this, the motivation to strive more for work is greatly seen they will do their best

to accomplish assigned tasks. Hence, they will not feel obligated but pursued.

VIII. CONCLUSION

In order for us to meet the objectives we must address the issue. Let us focus on

providing benefits and on the welfare of the employees for them to go an extra mile. Added, it

attracts more teachers to apply as a public teacher since it has more benefits. Teachers play a

vital role for our future. Getting them to stay is not that hard with having good benefits given to

them.
