Compare and Contrast

A. Maganda ang Maputi Vs. Maganda ang Kayumanggi

Here in the Philippines is if your color is white you are beautiful. That's why those who are rich their
wasting money on doing plastic surgery, taking medicine just to become white, buttocks and many more
surgery. In our country you can notice that the leading lady have white complexion and those who have
brown complexion are stated as ugly. While in the film of "12 Years a Slave" the lead actor has brown
complexion and there is no exception in terms of color of your skin you can be the leading actor/actress
in a film. Even if you are not beautiful or handsome a long as you are talented and you can portray the
role better than the others.

B. Masaya ang may Palabas Vs. Masaya ang Palabas na may Laman

Here in the Philippines, most of Filipino looks happy whenever there is a movie that they can watch.
Even the movie or film that they want to watch has no sense. They are just watching to ease the
boredom and make it as an entertainment. One of the example is the Filipino movie "Super Parental
Guidance", if we will study the movie it ha no sense but it is makes us laugh. We only find happiness in
watching movies. While in the movie that we watch the "12 Years a Slave" i one of the example of movie
that have sense were we can see that this movie is really worth to be watch because the actor/actresses
portray their role exactly and with clarity about the message that they want to be knew by the viewers.
It is not just a simple movie but also a movie with morel lesson and entertainment that all the viewers
will enjoy watching and we can apply the lesson that we get in the movie in real life.

C. Mabuti ang Inaapi Vs. Mabuti ang may Sariling Isip at Gulugod

Here in the Philippines, the actor/actresses that was being violated was the people that poor. They
can fight for their rights but they didn't do something to deal with it. They just keep silent and look pity
that's why other people thinks that they were good. In real life, we didn't let others to hurt us and we
will do everything to fight for our rights. In teledramas some rich people hitting their maids an low class
people is only like a play but if we look that scene in real life, there is no such cruel person like that.
While in the film "12 Years a Slave" the lead actor/actresses has a knowledge to think for a way not to
be insulted by the rulers. It is better to think and find way that you will not be down. Like Solomon in the
movie that he serves as he was the slaves master because he knows what should be done or what
should they do.

D. Maganda ang Daigdig Vs. Gaganda pa ang Daigdig

Here in the Philippines, we can count the films or movies with no happy ending. That's why, when
there is a new movie that will be showing, they only give first view or trailer of it because everybody
knows that is will end in a happy ending. Filipino's are only watch movies for fun and to see the artists
that they idolized in big screen. While the movie "12 Years a Slave" is one of the example of a realistic
movie. Wherein by just viewing the first view and by just reading the tile of the movie we can't notice if
in the end of the movie is happy ending. And also like the contradictions that will end in happy ending.

Reaction
The movie "12 Years a Slave" is not the type pf movie that can caught your attention immediately it's
because of its graphics. But when I'm watching it I was wrong, this is type of movie that when you start
viewing it you can't take off your eyes because every scene of it was amazing.

I was really amaze to the leading man (Solomon) even though he's not good looking and old he's
acting skills was fascinating. Like what I have just said the leading man was so inspiring because of his
braveness and eagerness to stay strong even if his family was not there beside him. He makes God as his
inspiration. The last part of the movie is my favorite part because Solomon is back in their house and
when he saw his family the suffering that he get from the rulers is gone. I can also feel the happiness he
is feeling that time.

Overall the scenes in the movie was properly arranged. It can't captivate me immediately because of
the graphics but as i was watching it I really got interested even though I am not that fluent in
understanding English I still watch it and try to understand I just based my understanding on the way
they act. This is one of the most unpleasant film experience I've ever had. Everyone should see or watch
his film.
