Hello!

Welcome to the Escuela Vista Grande Choir! Thank you for your support as this new program gets started. I'm
very excited to sing and have fun with your child! We will be starting with some warmup songs and games, and
then learning some one-part songs in Spanish and English, and finally learning a two-part song and some
rounds. Depending on time, we may be practicing some Christmas carols in December. The choir will run until
Christmas break. If you have any questions about the choir, feel free to send me an email!

About Me:
I'm the Teacher Intern at Vista Grande, from the University of Lethbridge. I grew up in a musical family, playing
multiple instruments and singing in choirs from a young age up until university. I currently play piano and
ukulele. I love music and singing, and am excited to restart this program! My main goal with this is to spread
the love of singing with the students and have some fun!

Rehearsals:
We will meet twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday lunch hours, from 12:15-12:45. Students will eat lunch in
their classrooms until the bell rings, and then come to the options room, located on the second floor, to the left
of the office. Students will be expected to leave their food in their classrooms, so they should try to finish their
food quickly. Students are encouraged to attend every rehearsal once they are officially signed up.

Participation:
Once students are committed to the choir, they should make an effort to attend each rehearsal. If there is an
extended absence, like a vacation, please let me know ahead of time. Near Christmastime, for rehearsals in
which we will be practicing Christmas carols for the Carnival, the students that cannot participate do not need
to come those days.

Performances:
At this point, no performance dates are confirmed, but I am planning to perform one or two songs at an
assembly in November or December, and lead carols at the Christmas Carnival. These performance dates are
based on how prepared the students are in their songs. When these decisions are made, I will send out an
email in advance so parents can have an opportunity to attend.

Parent Communication:
I am sending a questionnaire home with your child to fill out, as well as one for you! If you could send these
back to school quickly, I would appreciate that! This is so that I can get some contact information to send you
important updates as they come! If you need to contact me, you can reach me at my school email. As well, if
you are interested in volunteering in any way, that would be greatly appreciated! We will need an accompanist
on piano for one song that we are learning later in the semester.
